Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Drs. Lutchka and Thatcher manage a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth, and facial regions. Drs. Lutchka and Thatcher practice a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery. This also includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. Our office can also diagnose and treat oral pathology, facial injuries, and fractures. Our doctors maintain current certification in Basic Life support, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery.
The surgical staff at River Valley Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery are experienced oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants, who are trained to assist in the administration of IV sedation and surgery in our state-of-the-art office setting. They have completed and are in compliance with the Anesthesia/Sedation Assistant Monitoring course laws in the state of Illinois. Our staff are informed administrative personnel, well versed in health and insurance policies, and are CPR certified.
